ASK US ANYTHING

WHAT DOES AN EVALUATION ENTAIL?

Generally, your child’s therapist will talk to you before the scheduled evaluation to get some important background information. The day of the evaluation will involve an in-person session that lasts about 1-hour. Your therapist will continue assessing your child over the next few therapy sessions after the first session, and will develop an evaluation report to summarize all of the findings from the evaluation, as well as a treatment plan, which will outline specific goals to be worked on in therapy and carried over to home. The report will generally be provided to you within 2-3 weeks of the evaluation.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE EVALUATION?

In general, therapy sessions start immediately (the following week) after the initial evaluation. Your child’s therapist will work with you to find a day and time that works well for you every week and will see you at that same time every week (we realize that sometimes sessions need to be rescheduled, but overall, your child will have a weekly standing appointment time).

HOW OFTEN WILL MY CHILD RECEIVE THERAPY?

After evaluating your child, your therapist will be able to make a clinical recommendation as to how frequently your child should receive services, and how long the sessions should be.
